About WSOC
For more than 35 years, Waldorf School Orange County (WSOC) has partnered with families to educate the whole child—mind, body, and spirit. Founded in 1988, WSOC serves students from Nursery through Grade 12 and is a resilient, mission-driven nonprofit rooted in a deep commitment to protecting childhood and cultivating well-balanced, capable, and compassionate young people.
Our mission is to provide a comprehensive, developmentally appropriate education that engages students cognitively, actively, and emotionally. We recognize and celebrate the unique gifts each child brings, encourage independent thinking and imagination, and foster a lifelong love of learning grounded in purpose and curiosity.
Inspired by the teachings of Rudolf Steiner, our integrated curriculum weaves together the humanities, science and mathematics, movement, and the arts into a rigorous and meaningful academic program. In our classrooms and throughout our school community, we strive to engage the intellect, enliven the imagination, and strengthen the will—empowering students to grow with initiative, creativity, and responsibility as they enter an ever-changing local and global community.
At a time when many small nonprofits face uncertainty, WSOC stands out for its stability, steady enrollment, and deeply engaged community. Our longevity reflects the trust families place in Waldorf education and the dedication of our faculty, volunteers, and donors. As a tuition-dependent school, philanthropic support is essential—bridging budget gaps, sustaining access through our Tuition Adjustment program, and ensuring that families from a broad range of socio-economic backgrounds can benefit from a Waldorf education.
With thoughtful financial stewardship, strong leadership, and a culture of generosity, WSOC enters the future with optimism and purpose. Together with our community of supporters, we continue to nurture imagination, cultivate character, and graduate engaged global citizens—honoring our mission today while building a sustainable foundation for generations to come.
