About SAFE

The Sexual Assault and Forensic Evaluation (SAFE) Clinic at Riverside University Health System Medical Center was founded in August 2004. That year, the team of dedicated examiners performed four (4) examinations. By the end of 2023, the number of patients served grew to 595. SAFE Clinic offers a variety of forensic examinations including acute sexual assault, domestic violence, and other forms of interpersonal violence. We are a team of 12 dedicated nurses helping our community navigate through difficult circumstances with compassion and advocacy.

About RCCAT

The Riverside County Child Assessment Team (RCCAT) is the county’s multidisciplinary team of professionals who investigate, respond to, and work to prevent child abuse.  The RCCAT Center at Riverside University Health System Medical Center provides a supportive and comfortable setting for children and their caregivers to receive trauma-informed and evidence-based services such as, forensic examinations and interviews, victim and family advocacy, and behavioral health interventions.  The RCCAT Center is where the team comes together to provide a supportive network, focused on child safety, well-being, and justice, for those that have been traumatized by abuse.
