About Our Organization

Founded in 2020, the Monterey Firefighters Community Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to serving and supporting the Monterey community through fire prevention, safety education, and charitable outreach.

The Foundation is led by Captains, Engineers, and Firefighters from the Monterey Fire Department who are committed to making a meaningful impact beyond emergency response. While protecting life and property is our profession, strengthening community preparedness, resilience, and care is our purpose. The Foundation exists to ensure that support continues before, during, and long after the sirens fade.

The Foundation supports the community through free public events, first responder mental health and wellness programs, and support for local youth organizations. In response to increasing wildfire risk, the Foundation also launched a Defensible Space Grant Program, providing assistance to community members who are unable to maintain their properties to meet wildfire safety standards.

Proceeds from this event directly benefit the Foundation’s outreach initiatives, allowing us to expand these programs, respond to emerging community needs, and deepen the connections that unite our firefighters and the community we proudly serve.
