The Huntington Beach Firefighters Association is a very active organization that continues to give back to the community on and off the job. Our Fire Association is hosting its 25th annual “Great Balls of Fire” charity golf tournament. This year’s tournament will be held at the beautiful and private The Huntington Club on Monday, October 20, 2025.
The HBFA looks forward to spending a fun filled day with you and your guests as we have a great venue, lots of amazing prizes, plenty of food and beverages on the course as well as a very entertaining dinner and auction event.
Our primary beneficiary for this year’s tournament will benefit the Bolsa Chica Conservancy. On a daily basis, The Bolsa Chica Conservancy offers education, restoration, and outreach programs that inspire children and adults to engage in the important work of protecting our wetlands today and for generations to come. We invite you to visit our Interpretive Center, located at 3842 Warner Avenue, (corner of Pacific Coast Highway and Warner Avenue), in Huntington Beach and learn more about what we do every day to make a difference in our community.

MISSION STATEMENT: To inspire and unite diverse generations through comprehensive education and community-driven initiatives. We serve all communities, with focused outreach to the underserved, offering unique hands-on experiences in wetland restoration and environmental science to promote stewardship of our watersheds and coastal ecosystems.
Educating Students and the Community - 30,000 Students & Visitors Taught Each Year
Education programs are the heart of The Bolsa Chica Conservancy. The more a student or community member learns about the wildlife and unique habitat of the wetlands, the more they love the Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve.
Students come in all ages, whether it’s a school fieldtrip or field lab, a weekend class, guided tour, or a volunteer restoration clean up, The Bolsa Chica Conservancy shares our love and knowledge for wetland wildlife. These hands-on educational experiences are what keeps the heart of Bolsa Chica growing because we protect what we love.
Grow With Us - 1,800+ Volunteers Working Together to Protect the Bolsa Chica
Habitat restoration and the research of wildlife is a critical component to ensure Bolsa Chica’s everlasting presence in our community. Last year we removed 30,000 pounds of invasive plants and 1,800 pounds of trash from the Ecological Reserve.
Engaging our community to be a part of our efforts to restore the natural habitat, remove harmful plants and trash debris, and participate in wildlife monitoring and community science research builds involvement and connection.
Expanding our Reach, Wetlands On Wheels - 10,000+ have participated to date
Outreach to all communities, with focus to the underserved, the Wetlands on Wheels program helps connect students near and far to the legacy of Bolsa Chica. The Wetlands on Wheels van travels to targeted communities in Southern California providing coastal experiences including a mobile aquarium, touch tank, and fun educational activities related to the mammals, fish, and birds found at the Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve.
