Our Mission
To equip California students with the tools and knowledge of personal finance and economics so that they can make better decisions for themselves, their families, and their communities.
Our Work
We believe that economics is part of our everyday lives. Economics helps us to understand the world around us, and it’s the key to unlocking personal financial success. This is an integral part of CCEE’s mission, and we take this job very seriously, because we’re the only ones doing it! We are the only nonprofit provider of K-12 economic education in California!
Student Programs
CCEE is the only nonprofit in California that provides California’s students’ with enriching economic and personal finance education through hands-on programming such as our local and national student competitions, the Financial Advisor’s Contest, National Economics Challenge, the Personal Finance Challenge, and The Stock Market Game.
“The support I’ve received since High School from the California Council on Economic Education was a key part of my decision to pursue higher education in economics. I received so many amazing opportunities from them. CCEE continues to provide educators and students with opportunities to expand their knowledge of economics and bring economics to life. Thank you CCEE for the spotlight and all the amazing work done to advance economics education.” - Julia Jaynes, Former Student and 3rd Place Winner of the Personal Finance Challenge
Teacher Programs
Investing in teachers and supporting their instruction yields the largest returns in the mission to create an economically and financially literate California. Every single teacher trained by CCEE equals 100 students educated every year.
“Many of us teachers are not economists, as strange as that may sound, but we absolutely want to financially empower our students.” - Manny Lopez, Economics Teacher Channel Islands High School
Community Programs
By teaming up with various community partners, such as the Los Angeles Unified School District and school districts throughout California, CCEE is able to deliver impactful economic and personal finance programming to students, teachers and their families.
