The Armenian Missionary Association of America (AMAA) is a dynamic organization dedicated to serving the Armenian people through a diverse range of humanitarian, educational, and spiritual initiatives. With a rich history spanning over a century, the AMAA continues to uphold its mission of compassion, empowerment, and hope for Armenians worldwide. Established in 1918, the AMAA emerged with a vision to extend a helping hand to Armenians in need, particularly those affected by the Armenian Genocide and its aftermath.
In 1988, a devastating earthquake hit Armenia causing thousands of children to become orphans. It was at that time that the AMAA Orphan Care Committee in Los Angeles was established in order to raise funds to provide care and basic necessities for those children and families impacted by the devastation. As the years have moved foward, the AMAA has supported the current needs of Armenians in Lebanon, Georgia and Syria. Last year Project Revive was established to provide short-term and long-term support to the families displaced from Artsakh. Through the Los Angeles Committee's Annual Children's Fashion Show, we have raised in excess of six million dollars for those in need. Since, then, we have remained steadfast in our commitment to addressing the evolving needs of the Armenian community, both in Armenia and the Diaspora.
Our multifaceted approach encompasses various areas of assistance, including humanitarian aid, education, community development, and spiritual enrichment. The AMAA remains committed to its founding principles of faith, service, and solidarity. Together with our supporters and volunteers, we look forward to shaping a brighter future for generations of Armenians to come.
