Chef Marco Z. a well-known Chef in the sports and entertainment venues, was nicknamed the
Championship Chef when he prepared meals for the Lakers in 2000,2001,2002, during their 3 NBA titles,
He then cooked for the Angels in 2002 when they won the World Series and then cooked for the Mighty
Ducks in 2003 when they made their 1st Stanley Cup appearance nicknaming him the “Championship
Chef”

A recognized as a top chef in the L.A. food scene, in 2016 he was the personal chef for Mariah Carey,
also served as personal chef for Dr. Jerry Buss, renowned Sports Agent Scott Boras as well as Baseball
Superstar Adrian Beltre.
In April of 2017 he shared the kitchen with Wolfgang Puck and Chef Nobu.
He was featured on the cover of Great Taste Magazine and was referred to as a “top chef, teacher, and
innovator”.

He annually cooks for the Grammy artists at the Grammy awards, currently prepares meals for the
visiting teams at Dodger stadium and in 2018 cooked for the Major League All Stars in Washington.
He currently owns Zapien’s Salsa Grill and Taqueria in Pico Rivera, which was voted Fox LA’s “Best
Mexican Restaurant” for 7 consecutive years.

In 2018,the Salsa Grill’s “Chili Verde” was recognized as “5 best in LA by the LA Times.
He is currently serves as the Executive Chef consultant for Melissa’s Foods, a global leader in the food
industry.

He has prepared meals for the rich and famous for years, however he says his most memorable meal
was when he prepared a meal for Pope John Paul in his 1999 visit to St Louis.
